It recently became known that the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia (Rosselkhoznadzor) did not allow 20 tons of watermelons to enter Belarus.
In particular, the ban on the export of products from the southern Russian regions to the neighboring republic was initiated in the Bryansk region by the Office of Rosselkhoznadzor.
The department’s press service reported this, also citing the reason for taking such a measure.
It is stated that last week at the Krasny Kamen checkpoint in the Zlynkovsky district a truck was stopped for inspection.
It was transporting a “batch of quarantined products.”
During the inspection of the cargo and checking of accompanying documents, Rosselkhoznadzor employees discovered a violation.
In particular, the following was established: watermelons delivered to Belarus (originating in the southern regions of the Russian Federation) were transported with an invalid phytosanitary certificate.
The export of these products from the territory of the Russian Federation was prohibited, the department noted.
