The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko approved changes regarding service in the internal affairs agencies.
The head of state signed the corresponding decree No. 353 today, September 9.
As reported by the presidential press service , Decree No. 353 provides for amendments to a number of legislative acts, in particular, to the Regulation on service in the internal affairs agencies in order to take into account the practical experience of its application and bring the document into line with legislative acts adopted later (the Education Code, laws on civil service, the population register, the fight against corruption, notaries and notarial activities).
The changes are intended to increase the efficiency of staffing of internal affairs agencies and improve the social and legal protection of employees.
Thus, it is envisaged to introduce a new basis for refusal to accept a position and for termination of service: acquisition of citizenship/nationality of another country.
In connection with the increase in the maximum age for military service from 45 to 48 years, the maximum age for admission to military service is increased from 25 to 28 years.
Additional guarantees are being introduced for family members of employees of internal affairs agencies in terms of free medical care in organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The possibility of free meals for employees in cases where they are called upon to maintain public order when transferred to an enhanced duty option is established.
Employees of the Investigative Committee, financial investigation agencies, emergency response agencies and departments, and the State Forensic Expertise Committee shall have the right to receive medical care in the organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and health resort treatment and recovery in the manner and under the conditions established for employees of the internal affairs agencies.
In addition, the document contains a provision on the possibility of creating military-patriotic clubs on the basis of internal affairs agencies in order to develop patriotic education of youth.
