On Monday morning, September 9, huge queues of cars were recorded at the borders of Belarus with the countries of the European Union.

As reported by the press service of the State Border Committee on its official Telegram channel, in total, more than 3,000 vehicles were waiting to enter neighboring states.

As of ten o'clock in the morning, the busiest direction remained the Lithuanian one, with 1,320 trucks stuck in queues at local checkpoints.

And over the past weekend, only 27% of the trucks from the norm managed to get into Lithuania, the State Border Service notes.

The smallest number of trucks over the weekend was processed by the employees of the Medininkai checkpoint (on the Belarusian side – Kamenny Log) – 127 trucks out of 1,000 possible.

The Polish side registered 51% of the standard number of heavy-duty vehicles here, the department noted.

Over the course of two days, 45% of trucks entered EU countries through the Latvian checkpoint Paternieki (Grigorovshchina), the report says.

The situation with passenger cars is as follows: by 10 am on September 9, there was a queue only in front of the Polish checkpoint “Terespol” (“Brest”) – 430 cars.

Since Friday, Poland has accepted an average of 35% of transport per day into its territory, the Border Committee reported.

As for the buses, at ten in the morning on September 9, there were 37 units of this type of transport in line in front of the Polish checkpoint “Terespol” (“Brest”).
