State Border Guard Service: Belarusian border guards identified about 270 problematic documents in the summer of 2024
The State Border Committee of Belarus has released some statistics for the summer of 2024.
The department drew attention to the following point: usually during the warm season, the passenger flow across the state border increases.
At the same time, another indicator is also increasing - the number of purely invalid documents presented at the border.
Thus, last summer, Belarusian border guards identified about 270 problematic documents.
This information is presented in the official Telegram channel of the State Prosecutor's Office.
What violations are we talking about?
It is emphasized that the largest number of violations were committed by citizens of other countries: about 150 cases were identified.
The most common mistakes made by foreigners were the lack of a Belarusian visa and exceeding the period of stay in Belarus without a visa.
Now about the violations committed, including by citizens of Belarus. In the summer, many damaged documents were discovered. Thus, in six dozen passports presented to border guards, the seals and photographs were blurred or the pages were torn out.
There were also many expired passports. The total number of such documents was 50.
There were also violations committed not by chance, but on purpose. Thus, 9 people had forged documents.
