Preclinical trials of a domestically produced cancer vaccine have been completed in Russia, MIA Rossiya Segodnya reports.
The statement was made by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Chief Oncologist of the Ministry of Health, and General Director of the National Medical Research Center of Radiology Andrey Kaprin.
We have passed the preclinical stage. Now a letter has been sent to the Ministry of Health so that we are allowed to start the first phase of testing, the scientist said at a press conference at the international multimedia press center "Russia Today".
Volunteers for testing the new vaccine will begin to be recruited immediately after the Russian Ministry of Health issues permission to conduct the next phase of testing.
An announcement about recruiting volunteers with the appropriate indications will be published on the website.
The decision to participate in the research will be made by specialists.
Let us recall that in July the Russian cancer vaccine was assessed as a very promising development.
It is made on the basis of mRNA technology, the essence of which is the collection of tumor material from the patient.
An analysis of the patient's characteristics is taken into account, a tumor passport is created, after which this information is used to create a personalized vaccine.
