The founder of one of the largest Russian marketplaces Wildberries, Tatyana Bakalchuk, made an important statement.
The businesswoman announced the imminent appearance of a new option on the platform – for selling services.
She announced this during her speech at the Eastern Economic Forum, reports MIA Rossiya Segodnya.
Bakalchuk said that for now Wildberries provides its platform for sellers of goods, but “in the near future there will also be services.”
At the same time, she emphasized that she does not like the word “marketplace”, although there was a period “when I agreed that we are a marketplace”.
We have never called ourselves a marketplace, and even in our time, when we were small, relatively small, we were not a digital platform. I have always disliked this word, - the founder of the company noted.
And she added: Wildberries is a digital platform that ensures balance in the interaction of all its participants, taking into account their interests.
According to Bakalchuk, today, behind almost all large companies are technologies such as Big Data, Machine Learning, and various “digital” stories.
And almost all such companies, the entrepreneur points out, position themselves as digital.
We are truly a platform, because we are a place where the interests of all participants meet, and we are a kind of balancer,” she emphasized.
