Today, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko signed another decree pardoning those convicted of protest-related crimes.
The president's decision was commented on by Yuri Voskresensky, a member of the commission for reviewing appeals from Belarusians abroad.
His statement is cited by BELTA .
Voskresensky noted that this is already the third decree on pardon in the last 3 months.
He noted that this work has become systemic and emphasized that the behavior of each group of pardoned persons plays a major role.
According to Voskresensky, if in any of the groups there is a person who has written petitions insincerely, this could slow down the process.
The process will slow down, if not stop altogether, he summed up.
As reported, the new decree pardoned 30 people – seven women and 23 men.
Most of those pardoned are parents of minors and young children.
All those pardoned submitted a corresponding petition, sincerely repented, admitted their guilt and pledged to lead a law-abiding life.
