It has recently become known that over the past week, two unpleasant incidents have been recorded in the Mogilev and Vitebsk regions of Belarus.

We are talking about mass contact of citizens with animals infected with rabies.

The press service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic reported this on its official Telegram channel.

During the sanitary and epidemiological investigation, doctors established that more than 70 people played with dogs infected with rabies (and also touched and petted them).

In one case, it was a homeless dog with puppies, which was fed by the entire village.

In the second case, we are talking about a husky puppy that was not given the appropriate vaccinations in a timely manner.

Belarusians who seek medical help “receive a full course of anti-rabies treatment.”

The agency clarifies that to prevent the disease, they receive “anti-rabies gamma globulin in combination with an anti-rabies vaccine.”

Please note: sanitary service specialists and the Ministry of Health have carried out all necessary measures, the situation remains under control.
