In Belarus, there is an average of 11 schoolchildren per school teacher.
This is stated in a statistical review prepared by Belstat for Knowledge Day.
According to Belstat , a total of 103.3 thousand teachers are involved in the general secondary education system.
Overall in the country, there is one school teacher for every 11 schoolchildren.
In rural schools there are six students per teacher, in urban schools – 13.
Of the subject teachers in schools, the largest number are foreign language teachers – 18.8%.
Teachers of Belarusian language and literature and Russian language and literature make up 9.8% each, mathematics – 10.7%, physical education – 9.7%.
