Folk omens for September 1, 2024: winter will be frosty or warm

On September 1, the Orthodox Church remembers the martyr Andrew Stratilates of Taurida and the three martyrs of Gaza – Thekla, Agapius and Timothy.

In the folk calendar, September 1st is Andrey Teplyak, Fekla the Beetroot, Stratilat Teplyak, Feklin's Day.

According to folk signs, on Feklin Day you can find out whether the winter will be frosty or warm.

The weather on Feklin's day is what the autumn will be like.

If it is warm on Andrey Teplyak, winter will last long.

Morning fog on Fekla-svekolnitsa foretells a snowy winter.

If the grass is green like in spring, the winter will be warm.
