The sea, which will be discussed in this article, can be called a real water miracle of our planet.

A couple of hints: it covers an area of 2,900,000 square kilometers, reaches a maximum depth of 6,820 m, and was named after its discoverer, James Weddell.

Perhaps these facts are enough to guess that the story will be about the Weddell Sea.

It was discovered by an expedition of a British navigator and one of the first explorers of Antarctica back in 1823.

Incidentally, the open canal was initially named after King George IV, but in 1900 it was renamed to honor Weddell.

The Weddell Sea is one of the largest seas in the world.

But these are not all the interesting facts associated with it: you can find a mention of the sea in the Guinness Book of Records.

Here it is called the cleanest sea on the planet, because its waters are as clear as distilled water.
