Chicken Leslie from Canada made the world think about the possibilities of birds.

This amazing bird recently made it into the Guinness Book of Records, and all because it managed to recognize six numbers, letters and colors.

What's even more amazing is that Leslie was able to do it in under one minute.

We have the bird's owner, Emily Carrington, to thank for this.

The woman works as a veterinarian and one day she decided to buy five Heiling chickens to train them.

To do this, she placed magnets with different symbols in front of the chickens.

At first, the birds did not understand why they were being shown these unusual objects.

But Emily was patient: every time the bird poked its beak at the right sign, it received a treat. Gradually, the chickens realized that there was a connection between the correct choice and the reward.

As Emily memorized one or two shapes, she introduced new symbols.

The chickens' task was to peck only at the number or letter they knew and ignore the rest.

Inspired by the success of her charges, Carrington decided that all of them should compete for the title of Guinness World Record holder.

Leslie was the luckiest of all and was able to recognize the greatest number of shapes.

In this way, Emily Carrington wanted to show the world that chickens can be much smarter than is commonly believed.
