They are more than 1.5 meters long: American teenager got into the Guinness Book of Records thanks to his hair

Reuben Loucks Twice Jr., a Native American from South Dakota, has managed to get his name into the Guinness Book of World Records.

His own hair helped him in this, as the young man was recognized as the owner of the longest hair among teenage males.

Ruben's hair measured 161 cm (5.33 in) at the time the record was set.

It took 15 years to grow his locks to such a length - the young man hasn't had a haircut since he was two years old.

At first, his parents allowed him to keep his hair uncut because of his fear of hair clippers.

As the boy grew older, he wanted to grow his hair to follow the traditions of his Lakota Indian people.

It is worth noting that the achievement made by Twice Jr. is not as simple as it may seem at first glance.

Every day he spends 20 minutes washing his hair, an hour drying it and another 10 minutes untangling, combing and braiding it. But even a neat hairstyle does not protect the teenager from "accidents": sometimes his hair gets stuck in car doors or catches on door handles.
