The record for the longest kiss was set by Thai couple Ekkach and Lakshana Tiranarat in February 2013.
Their kiss lasted 58 hours and 35 minutes.
Interestingly, in 2011 they already got into the Guinness Book of Records for the longest kiss, then lost the top spot and won it again.
Currently, breaking their record is only possible for the sake of sporting interest, as the Guinness Book of Records no longer registers this achievement.
The problem is that the process itself has become dangerous to the health and lives of the participants.
According to the rules, they are not allowed to interrupt. They are allowed to drink through a straw and visit the toilet without moving away from their partner's lips. The participants must spend all this time standing.
Of course, not everyone can withstand such a test, which is why some kissers even needed medical help.
Thus, Ekkacha and Lakshana became the latest record holders in this category. The Guinness Book of World Records now records the duration of a kissing marathon, where participants are allowed to eat, drink and sleep.
