There are not only "horse surnames", but also horse records.

Thus, one of the entries in the Guinness Book of Records states that the tallest horse in the world in 2011 was a horse named Big Jack.

Unfortunately, its power can now only be assessed from photographs - the animal died on June 28, 2021.

At that time, Jack was 20 years old. He lived on the Smoky Hollow farm, which is located in the town of Poynette (Wisconsin, USA).

For his owner, Jerry Gilbert, the horse was much more than just a world record holder – he was a member of his family.

At birth, Big Jack, a Brabancon (Belgian heavy draft) horse, weighed almost 109 kg. As an adult, his parameters were an order of magnitude higher: he weighed about a ton, and his height reached 210.19 cm.

Of course, keeping such an animal could not be called simple - the horse ate two buckets of grain filled to the brim and a bale of hay every day.

What also seems curious is that Big Jack's parents were ordinary horses of average size.
