The modern population of the planet has become accustomed to the fact that in technological terms, China has long held the lead.

The PRC amazes with the scale of production of household appliances, cars, and also with its construction achievements.

The fact is that it was in China that the longest bridge in the world was built, but that is not the main thing.

Technically, it is both a viaduct and a cable-stayed bridge, the height of which in some places reaches 150 meters, and on average does not fall below the 100-meter mark.

The structure stretches for 164.8 kilometers in length.

The bridge is called Danyang-Kunshan and was built in 2011.

It cost the treasury $8.5 billion. It required several hundred thousand tons of steel, as well as 11.5 thousand concrete supports.

It is also part of the high-speed railway connecting Beijing and Shanghai.

The bridge is located in the Yangtze River area and in some places ships pass underneath it.

Viaducts support towers and arches, and cable-stayed structures hold the cables.

The most interesting thing is that all this perfection of Chinese technical thought was built in just 4 years.
