Chef Faylatu Abdul-Razaq from Ghana has set a world record for the longest culinary marathon.
To do this, she had to cook for 227 hours and 2 seconds.
The marathon started on the first day of 2024 and ended on January 10 of the same year.
The venue was a hotel in Tamale, where thousands of Ghanaians gathered, including leading politicians, artists, media representatives and tourists.
They all came to support the woman.
After the successful completion of this grand event, evidence was sent to the Guinness Book of Records to officially confirm the establishment of a new record.
Let us recall that the previous record holder in this category is Irish chef Alan Fisher, who in October 2023 completed a culinary marathon that lasted 119 hours, 57 minutes and 16 seconds.
According to the rules, the candidate is entitled to a five-minute break for every hour of continuous performance of the task. Unused break hours can be accumulated. This is the only period of time when a person can go to the toilet or sleep.
