One of the largest snowmen in the world was built in the American town of Bethel, Maine, in February 2008.

In doing so, the residents of this settlement broke their own record, set in 1999, when they erected a snowman 34.6 meters high.

The snowman was approximately 37 meters high, which is approximately the height of a ten-story building, and about 15 meters wide.

The length of his scarf was almost 40 meters.

The eyelashes were made from skis, the lips from five red car tires, and the eyes from wreaths.

To make the hands, Christmas trees were used – each 9 meters high.

The weight of the "giant" was approximately 6 tons.

It took the Americans about two weeks to build the snowman. Incidentally, they admired the results of their creation for quite a long time – the snow structure stood until summer and completely melted only closer to mid-June.
