There are many lakes in the world that amaze with their beauty and mirror-like surface of water.

Such geographical features often become favorite places for tourists to visit.

However, there are bodies of water that are so unusual that it can be difficult to believe in their existence.

What strange lakes are worth knowing about

Spotted Lake (Kliluk), Canada

The water contains a large amount of various minerals. As a result, curious "spots" of different colors and shapes appear on the surface of the lake.

Sometimes they resemble small islands. It is noteworthy that tourists are not allowed to get to the lake. It is sacred for the natives, so they prefer not to let strangers near this important object.

Empty Lake, Russia

Many scientists are still working on the mystery of this reservoir. The fact is that Empty Lake actually lives up to its name: there is nothing in it.

Even birds don't come near this pond.

Experts have studied this anomaly and have come to the conclusion that there is no obstacle to fish and algae growing in the lake.

However, all attempts to "populate" Empty Lake with inhabitants ended in failure.

Lake of Death, Italy, Sicily

This lake rightfully deserves its name, as it is mortally dangerous for all living things. The fact is that the reservoir contains too much dangerous sulfuric acid.

However, this gloomy lake looks quite impressive.
