Many people still mistakenly believe that the largest ship in human history was the infamous Titanic.

However, if you compare the ship on which Jack and Rose had their fateful meeting with modern giants, it will seem like just a small vessel.

The displacement, that is, the volume of water that a floating vessel displaces, of today's ships is 4 times greater than that of the Titanic, while their length exceeds that of the ship that crashed into the iceberg by more than 100 meters.

These are the Oasis class cruise ships, which have a displacement of 225,000 to 230,000 tons and a length of 360 to 362 meters.

There are already four such ships in existence, while work on building two more is ongoing.

The largest of them is the Symphony of the Seas, with a tonnage of 230,000 tons and a length of 362 m. For comparison, the height of the Eiffel Tower is 324 m.

It can accommodate 6,780 passengers and 2,175 crew members.

Guests sailing on the Symphony have access to two rock climbing walls, a mini golf course, a basketball court, an ice rink, a fitness centre, a garden with galleries, parks and shops and other entertainment.
