A bilateral meeting between the presidents of Belarus and Zimbabwe took place on the sidelines of the climate summit taking place in Baku.

During the dialogue, Alexander Lukashenko informed Emmerson Mnangagwa of the need to “still do a lot” to develop relations between the two countries.

At the event, the leaders of the states discussed a number of issues related specifically to interrelations, including prospects for cooperation in Africa.

According to the press service of the Belarusian leader, the conversation took place in a friendly atmosphere.

Mr. President, I am glad to see you active and cheerful, despite all the problems that we have in the world, - this is how Lukashenko greeted his colleague.

In response, he noted that his interlocutor looked great – “and younger, of course.”

Lukashenko responded by suggesting that perhaps “not quite.”

Compared to me, Mr. President, you look like a young man. I am 82 years old. So, when I look at you, Mr. President, I see my young, young brother,” Mnangagwa insisted.

His colleague responded that it is impossible to compare northern and southern people, especially since the latter, in his opinion, are more “effective, active” and “much healthier.”

We are going to live with you for more than one year, and we still have a lot to do, said the President of Belarus.
