Yuri Zenkovich, sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment in Belarus, appealed to Alexander Lukashenko.

The court sentenced him to this punishment in September 2022 for organizing a conspiracy to seize state power.

Zenkovich, as follows from the film "Murderous Plot. Target - Lukashenko" on the Belarus 1 TV channel , asked the President to pardon him and release him to the United States.

I am a US citizen, but I have not heard anything from US representatives trying to contact me since the summer of 2021. I understand that the Biden administration has done nothing at all in these three and a half years, ” he said.

FBI and CIA

He reported that three people came to him one day. Two showed FBI IDs, the third, as the convicted man assumes, worked for the CIA.

According to Zenkovich, he was told that he allegedly worked for the KGB, but he denied this, confirming his willingness to undergo a lie detector test.

Then he was offered a job with the US government. Zenkovich noted that what he tried to do more than three years ago was a mistake.

Experience

He also stated that since the conspirators had no experience in governance, the country could probably expect an armed conflict, which is currently being observed in Ukraine.

He stressed that none of his associates had the same experience in negotiations that Lukashenko has.

Lukashenko has done a brilliant job over the past two years, preventing Belarus from being drawn into war. This is certainly a plus for him, and I am not embarrassed to say this, although everyone knows me as a critic of the current government, Zenkovich said.

And he put forward the following hypothesis: if the opposition had come to power, then, most likely, it would not have been possible to avoid Belarus being drawn into the war.

He says that the only way to avoid it is to take action to maintain peace in the country and not to participate in any internal or international conflicts.

Appeal to Lukashenko

In connection with this, he again admitted his own guilt and apologized to the Belarusian leader.

I would like to take this opportunity to ask him to pardon me and give me the opportunity to return to my family and loved ones in the United States. To return to my professional activities,” Zenkovich said.

And since he is a US citizen, he also reached out to presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.

He asked them to help him quickly return to Houston, Texas, where his family lives.
