On Thursday, December 12, 2024, a meeting took place between Alexander Lukashenko and the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin.

During the event, the President of Belarus informed his interlocutor that the agencies of the two countries, including investigative bodies, would act jointly.

He explained: this concerns the training of specialists, exchange of experience, support in the international arena, implementation of initiatives of Minsk and Moscow, and other joint actions.

The head of state assured the head of the Investigative Committee of the neighboring country that he can count on Belarus.

We will act together, no matter what they say here, no matter how they try to pull us apart, the President’s press service quotes him as saying.

I noticed that although this concerns the heads of the Investigative Committees of the two countries to a lesser extent (more so the politicians), today these departments are not outside of politics either.

You get it. We get it a little less. It seems to be calmer now. But it is relative calm, Lukashenko said.

And he added: Bastrykin can be confident that he has “reliable friends” in Belarus.
