The White House stated that Kyiv itself must decide the issue of territorial concessions for peace with the Russian Federation.

This statement was made on December 1 by US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan on ABC.

What the White House said about Ukraine's concessions

A White House representative noted that Kyiv understands that the conflict will ultimately be resolved through negotiations.

According to him, throughout this year Washington has been actively discussing with the team of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky what kind of negotiations could take place.

As for the territory, security and other issues, I will not talk about it. Zelensky should talk about it, Sullivan said.

On CBS, Sullivan, answering a question about possible territorial concessions from Ukraine, said that he could not negotiate on behalf of Zelensky.

The future of Ukraine should be determined at the negotiating table by decisions of Ukrainians, and not imposed from outside by the United States or anyone else, the US presidential aide added.
