The well-known publication The Conversation believes that no matter how the US presidential elections end, the new president will have a significant impact on the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
Whether Donald Trump comes to power or Kamala Harris takes the White House seat is of great importance for Kyiv.
Whoever wins, the new president can radically change the course of the war, the ONT TV channel quotes the publication as saying.
According to the author of the article, if Harris wins, the United States will continue to provide military and financial assistance to Ukraine.
At the same time, the article says, the question of Kyiv’s accession to NATO will remain open.
It is assumed that if the Democratic representative and current vice president cannot ensure Ukraine a place in the North Atlantic Alliance, then under her presidency the conflict could drag on.
If Trump becomes the head of state, Ukraine could face fatal consequences, since, the author of the article believes, the Republican will push Kyiv to negotiate with Moscow.
The possibility of freezing the conflict, as was the case in the situation with South and North Korea, is also not ruled out.
