Recently, American media reported that Donald Trump, who won the presidential elections in their country, had a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin.
In particular, the authoritative newspaper The Washington Post reports on this.
According to her, the call was initiated by an influential Republican. The conversation between the politicians took place on Thursday, November 7.
As the portal "TUT NOVOSTI" writes , this was the first telephone conversation between Trump and Putin after the former won the right to be the owner of the White House for the second time.
The American publication claims that the elected head of state allegedly called on Putin not to escalate the Ukrainian conflict.
The newspaper also writes that Donald emphasized his interest in continuing contacts with his interlocutor with the aim of promptly resolving the issue regarding Ukraine.
He has privately signaled that he would support a deal in which Russia would retain some territory, the report says.
It is worth noting that the information officially disseminated by The Washington Post has not yet been confirmed.
At the same time, Vladimir Putin previously said that he does not object to resuming contacts with the American side and does not consider it shameful to call Trump.
And the Kremlin's official representative Dmitry Peskov noted that the Russian leader - theoretically - could contact the Republican himself, but it remains to be seen how events develop.
