US President-elect Donald Trump will have to make the first move if he wants a deal with Russia.

The American publication Time writes about this.

Why Trump Will Have to Make the First Move

The Time article states that the protracted negotiations are leading to Ukraine losing more and more territory in Donbass.

According to the publication, Moscow has made it clear that if Washington wants to conclude the peace deal promised by Trump, it will have to pay for it, and the price for Ukraine will be very high.

In other words, Trump will have to take the first step towards Putin, the publication says.

The day before, the American publication The Wall Street Journal, citing sources, reported that Trump's team is developing a new plan to end the conflict, which envisages freezing it along the front line, creating a demilitarized zone, and continuing to supply weapons to Ukraine in exchange for its promise not to join the North Atlantic Alliance for at least 20 years.

The press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, stated that the WSJ article is abstract in nature.

Yesterday, at a meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club, Putin said that he does not consider it shameful to call Trump himself.

The Russian President noted that Trump's statements about his desire to resolve the conflict deserve attention.

According to Putin, Russia is ready to create conditions for a long-term settlement so that Ukraine is an independent, sovereign country, and not an instrument in the hands of third countries.
