Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Prime Minister Olaf Scholz have deep disagreements, but the very fact of dialogue is positive.
This was stated by the press secretary of the head of the Russian state, Dmitry Peskov, in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.
A video of the Kremlin representative’s statement was published on Zarubin’s Telegram channel.
The Kremlin representative noted that the German side initiated the conversation.
This, of course, is its importance, ” said the press secretary of the Russian president.
According to Peskov, attempts are being made to compare positions, and political will has been demonstrated to learn this position first-hand.
This is something that, of course, cannot but cause satisfaction, the Kremlin representative noted.
Putin and Scholz, Peskov continued, have deep disagreements, but the very fact of dialogue is positive.
But, of course, there is no point in talking about any kind of coincidence of opinions here, he stated.
According to the Kremlin spokesman, the Russian president confirmed his readiness for negotiations and told the German Chancellor in detail about his vision of the situation and the prospects for its development, and Scholz voiced his position, which is well known and is repeated by all European representatives like a mantra several times a day.
Peskov recalled that the preconditions for resolving the conflict were clearly outlined by the Russian President in his June speech at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
All of this was on the agenda of the telephone conversation that took place, Putin’s press secretary summed up.
