December 15th is the Day of Remembrance for journalists who died in the line of duty.
The recent statement by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is timed to coincide with the memorable date.
The Russian diplomat's commentary stated that the Ukrainian authorities, who are "hunting" for journalists and war correspondents from the Russian Federation, will be punished.
TASS reports this.
A representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that on December 15, they remember those media representatives who did not return from editorial assignments in hot spots.
They also remember journalists who died for their loyalty to their profession.
We are convinced that those responsible for their deaths will inevitably receive the punishment they deserve, emphasized Maria Zakharova.
According to the diplomat, “Ukrainian thugs” are hunting for journalists and war correspondents from Russia.
And this situation, as Zakharova noted, arose due to the lack of opposition from the West.
A representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry recalled that in 2024, war correspondent Semyon Eremin, cameraman Valery Kozhin, journalist Nikita Tsitsagi, and editor-in-chief of one of the Russian publications Yulia Kuznetsova died.
According to Zakharova, these people died “at the hands of militants of the Kyiv regime.”
