Belarus does not plan to create offensive troop groups. Despite the abnormal activity of NATO near its borders.

This was reported by the Head of the Department of International Military Cooperation – Assistant to the Minister of Defense of Belarus on International Cooperation Issues, Valery Revenko.

He made a corresponding statement on the STV channel.

The ministry representative noted that the “anomalous activity” of the North Atlantic Alliance began long ago, before 2020.

This year, Minsk recorded another “turn”, connected primarily with the “Defender” exercises.

In our opinion, it was not so much a training exercise – it was a demonstration. A demonstration towards Russia, the Republic of Belarus, that they are ready for some decisive actions, – said the head of the Department.

But, he added, the West felt that Russia and Belarus would not sacrifice their own interests in pursuing their independent policies.

Separately, Revenko drew attention to the fact that the Belarusian army is modernizing its weapons and military equipment, but the number of personnel is not increasing.

This means that Minsk is demonstrating to its neighbors “that we remain in the peacetime states.”

This means that we do not pose a threat, do not plan to create offensive troop groups, and plan to live with you in a world of friendship and harmony, explained the assistant to the head of the Ministry of Defense.
