The Kremlin commented on the desire of Miami investor Stephen Lynch to acquire the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
The press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, stated that he had not heard about Gazprom’s intention to sell this asset.
The statement by the Kremlin representative is quoted by TASS .
Lynch's desire to acquire Nord Stream 2 was reported last week by the American publication The Wall Street Journal.
I have not heard that the Russian side, represented by Gazprom, would like to sell it, Peskov commented.
He also expressed bewilderment at Germany's decision not to use Nord Stream 2.
This is a whole pipeline that can be launched immediately, noted the press secretary of the head of the Russian state.
For reference
Nord Stream 2 is a main gas pipeline from Russia to Germany across the Baltic Sea, 1,234 km long (2,468 km along two lines), which is inoperative after being sabotaged.
