Lithuania has introduced new restrictions on goods in relation to Belarus and Russia. They will come into effect on January 1, 2025.
From the specified day, an updated list of products from the category of “dual-use goods” comes into force.
We are talking about those that are prohibited from being exported to Belarus and Russia.
This information was recently released by the press service of the Lithuanian customs.
The following are reported to have fallen under the taboo:
– chemical elements with additives for use in electronics;
- centrifuges;
– equipment for filtering or purifying liquids or gases;
– road tractors;
– various components of vehicles (bearings, clutches, gearboxes, spare parts, etc.).
- some other goods.
In addition, Vilnius excluded from the national list products included in the EU sanctions list.
Lithuanian Customs reports that these restrictions will remain in force until January 2, 2026.
Earlier, in 2023, the Baltic republic tightened the rules for the transit of goods through its territory to Belarus and Russia.
At the time, it was stated that these measures affected goods used “for military purposes or to increase the capacity of Russian industry.”
In November 2024, Lithuania introduced further measures, focusing on chips, microcircuits and some other electronic goods.
In addition, the rules regarding medical diagnostic equipment have been tightened.
