Alexander Lukashenko addressed the people of Poland. The occasion was Independence Day celebrated by the neighboring state.
The head of state congratulated the residents of Poland on this important holiday on behalf of the Belarusians and himself personally.
He noted that despite the current difficulties, fate had destined the two nations to live side by side.
And neighborliness, according to the author of the congratulations, implies, among other things, strengthening friendship and business cooperation, expanding the common Christian and cultural heritage, and deepening relationships in various spheres.
The text emphasizes that current regional and geopolitical upheavals lead to ordinary people becoming victims of such events.
These upheavals “once again remind us of the high price of peace and confirm that there is no alternative to maintaining mutually respectful and good-neighborly relations,” the press service of the Belarusian leader quotes the message as saying.
He draws attention to the fact that Belarus today is doing everything to simplify travel, create new opportunities for recreation, visiting relatives, and establishing economic ties.
Lukashenko points out: “as more and more Poles come to our country under the visa-free regime, people’s diplomacy is strengthening.”
He states: “there is a growing need to return to normal relations at the interstate level.”
The President expressed confidence that soon “this natural need of both societies will be realized.”
He also reported that Minsk is ready to continue working in the designated direction.
The head of state wished the citizens of Poland health, well-being, happiness and invited them to Belarus.
