Russia's openness to dialogue on Ukraine does not mean a change in the goals of the special military operation.
This was announced on November 8 by the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov.
His statement is quoted by MIA "Russia Today" .
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced his readiness for contacts with US President-elect Donald Trump.
The head of the Russian state noted that Trump's statements on Ukraine deserve attention.
Journalists asked Peskov whether Putin’s readiness for dialogue implies an adjustment to the demands put forward on June 14.
There was no talk of any changes here, responded the press secretary of the head of the Russian state.
The Kremlin spokesman recalled that Putin never spoke about changing the goals of the SVO; on the contrary, he repeatedly stated that they remain the same.
Peskov also recalled that the Russian president had previously stated his openness to dialogue with all interested parties.
On June 14, Putin, in a speech at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, voiced new peace proposals that envisage Ukraine’s refusal to join the North Atlantic Alliance, the consolidation of its non-aligned and non-nuclear status, the recognition of the DPR, LPR, Crimea, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions as regions of the Russian Federation, and the lifting of sanctions.
