The speaker of the upper house of the Russian parliament noted that the negotiations would be very difficult.

According to her, Moscow is ready for compromises, but only under strict compliance with the main conditions she voiced earlier.

This is a constant, we will not deviate from this one iota, Matvienko emphasized.

She recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin had voiced the conditions on several occasions.

The Federation Council speaker added that Russia is ready to begin negotiations at any time.

But what we went through with the Minsk agreements will not be repeated again, Matviyenko summed up.

In June, Putin, in a speech at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, voiced the following conditions for resolving the conflict: withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donbass and Novorossiya, lifting of sanctions, Ukraine's refusal to join the North Atlantic Alliance, consolidation of Ukraine's non-nuclear and non-aligned status, ensuring the rights, freedoms and interests of Russian-speaking citizens in Ukraine.
