Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced an upcoming meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and a visit to China.
The head of state made the relevant statements on December 23 at a meeting on issues of mechanical engineering development.

According to the head of state, the meeting with the Russian president will take place in just a couple of days.

Speaking about the need to expand traditional markets, Lukashenko noted that he will visit China in the near future.
Our traditional markets, where we have worked successfully, need to be expanded. That is why these visits to Oman, the Emirates, and China are coming soon, the head of state said.
As reported, in the last ten days of December, the EAEU summit and an informal meeting of the leaders of the CIS countries will be held in St. Petersburg.
It is obvious that it was the venues of these summits that the president had in mind when speaking about the upcoming meeting with Putin.
Following the meeting, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Alexander Efimov reported that one of the topics of the meeting between Lukashenko and Putin could be the implementation of a new stage in import substitution.
According to the minister, last week at a meeting with the head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the possibility of submitting this very issue for consideration by the presidents was discussed.
