The Russian delegation at the G20 summit will be headed by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
This was reported on November 12 by the Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Marat Berdyev, in his Telegram channel.
The G20 summit will be held on November 18-19 in Rio de Janeiro.
On October 18, at a meeting with journalists from the BRICS countries, the Russian president announced that he would not attend the G20 summit so as not to disrupt it.
According to Putin, his appearance would disrupt the normal work of the summit.
The Russian President noted that Russia is in favor of this format not taking on additional political overtones.
He also assured that Russia will be worthily represented at the event.
Lavrov will head the Russian delegation at this event on Putin’s instructions, Berdyev said.
