Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the strike on the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation by American ATACMS missiles a signal from the West about escalation.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry made the corresponding statement on November 19 at a press conference following his participation in the G20 summit.
Lavrov's words are quoted by TASS .
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, on Tuesday night the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck a target in the Bryansk region with six ATACMS missiles.
The S-400 and Pantsir systems shot down 5 missiles and damaged one.
The missiles fell on the technical territory of a military facility, causing a fire. The fire was extinguished, there were no casualties or damage.
This is, of course, a signal that the West wants escalation, Lavrov commented.
He noted that it is impossible to use these high-tech missiles without the Americans.
Putin has spoken about this many times, the head of Russian diplomacy recalled.
