The presidents of Belarus and Serbia met in Baku, where the climate summit is taking place.

During the dialogue, Alexander Lukashenko proposed to Alexander Vucic to intensify relations between Minsk and Belgrade.

He recalled that diplomatic relations have existed between the countries for three decades now.

During this period, Lukashenko notes, many changes have occurred in the destinies of both states.

I think that we need to intensify our relations. It is bad that we do not have such intensive relations, - the Belarusian leader is quoted as saying by his press service .

To begin with, he proposed using an intergovernmental commission that could conduct an audit of Belarusian-Serbian relations and identify areas for further cooperation.

Lukashenko initiated the “discarding” of what was unnecessary in the relationship, outlining new paths of development.

But relations should not just be maintained. Despite all the difficulties, they should be intensified, the President emphasized.

Following the work of the intergovernmental commission, he proposed organizing a visit to Serbia by the Belarusian Prime Minister.

The head of state added: it is possible to exchange similar visits – at the government level.

And at the highest level we could then approve all the proposals,” the author of the initiative noted.

He also pointed out the fact that there are many areas of cooperation, advising his colleague not to lose old friends.

It is necessary to maintain relations with Russia and Belarus. They are true friends, deep friends, and in this direction, I believe, Serbia will do its utmost, Lukashenko concluded.
