Among the main political topics of recent days, the issue of integration of Belarus and Russia stands out.
Considerable attention was paid to it at the recent meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State held in Minsk.
After some time, the Kremlin gave its assessment of the prospects for integration of the two countries.
In particular, the press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, spoke on this matter.
He said that this process is very complex and painstaking, and therefore does not require haste.
Everyone wants to move faster, but integration is a very complex, very painstaking matter. There is no need to rush here at the expense of the quality of integration, TASS quotes the civil servant as saying.
Peskov also drew attention to the fact that both states retain their sovereignty, which must be taken into account.
While maintaining this sovereignty, the issue of a single Union State is being discussed, said the Kremlin representative.
In his opinion, in this direction “everything should be moderate, thoughtful and not lead to any contradictions.”
