CEC: 153 territorial commissions formed to conduct presidential elections in Belarus

To conduct the presidential elections in Belarus, 153 territorial commissions have been formed.

The press service of the Central Electoral Commission reported this on Telegram.

The territorial commissions included 1,689 people.

1,165 of them are representatives of parties and other public associations, 103 are work collectives, 421 are citizens.

Let us recall that the signature collection starts tomorrow. Seven initiative groups will take part in it: the current President Alexander Lukashenko, the head of the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee Olga Chemodanova, the leader of the LDPB Oleg Gaidukevich, a member of the Belaya Rus party Sergei Bobrikov, the leader of the RPTS Alexander Khizhnyak, the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus Sergei Syrankov and individual entrepreneur Anna Kanopatskaya.

The signature collection will end on December 6. From December 7 to 21, the Central Election Commission will accept documents for registration of candidates.

Candidate registration will take place from December 22 to 31. Election campaigning is planned from January 1 to 25.

Early voting will begin on January 21. The main voting day is January 26.

The election results will be determined no later than February 5. A second round of elections, if necessary, will take place no later than February 9.
