The new High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, has allowed for the sending of European troops to Ukraine.
Callas made this statement in an interview with the Italian news agency ANSA.
Discussing the possibility of sending European troops to Ukraine, the new head of EU diplomacy said that "nothing should be ruled out."
Europe must play a major role in any ceasefire agreement, Kallas said, which could include sending troops to monitor its implementation.
In any case, it is up to Ukraine to decide, ” added the head of the EU foreign policy service.
She noted that the United States, with whose future administration Brussels is already building bridges, benefits from supporting Ukraine, because a Russian victory would strengthen Iran, China and North Korea.
On Monday, the French newspaper Le Monde reported that Britain and France had resumed discussions on sending troops to Ukraine. According to the newspaper, London and Paris do not rule out leading the coalition.
