Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he discussed the exchange of prisoners between Russia and Ukraine with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the BRICS summit in Kazan.
The Turkish leader made this statement upon returning from the summit.
Erdogan's words are quoted by the Turkish news agency Anadolu .
As the Turkish president said, he and Putin discussed the restoration of the grain corridor, demining of the Black Sea and the exchange of prisoners.
According to Erdogan, Türkiye is closely monitoring the exchange of prisoners of war and will continue to make every possible effort to resolve existing problems through diplomatic means.
We want peace talks between the two countries to begin as soon as possible, he said.
The Turkish leader assured that Türkiye will continue to work to achieve this goal.
