Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko answered the question of whether Russian President Vladimir Putin regrets the decision to launch the SVO.
This question was asked to the head of the Belarusian state by BBC journalist Steven Rosenberg on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan.
The text of the interview is provided by the press service of the President of Belarus.
The interviewer noted that the Russian president's decision to launch the SVO not only turned into a disaster for Ukraine, but also had serious consequences for Russia itself.
You know Putin closely, you communicate with him. Does he regret making such a decision? Rosenberg asked.
The head of the Belarusian state responded that he and Putin had not discussed this.
Both sides are suffering heavy losses. Does Putin regret this or not? Of course he does, he is a living person, Lukashenko said.
At the same time, the President of Belarus added, Putin is firmly convinced that he is right.
