How Lavrov commented on Kyiv's statements about nuclear weapons

Yesterday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at a press conference at the European Union summit that the country would either join the North Atlantic Alliance or acquire nuclear weapons, and the German publication Bild, citing a Ukrainian official specializing in arms procurement, reported that Kyiv is seriously considering restoring its nuclear arsenal and could create its first bomb in a few weeks.

Later, the Ukrainian president's advisor on communications, Dmitry Litvin, denied Bild's report.

They are madmen, and nothing will ever come of this, of course, under any circumstances, Lavrov commented.

The head of Russian diplomacy noted that Zelensky has already retracted his words.

He probably woke up and got up on the other side of the bed, ” the minister added.
