The North Atlantic Alliance will continue to increase its military presence near the borders of the Russian Federation.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced this on October 18 at a press conference following a meeting of the alliance's defense ministers.
Rutte's statement is quoted by TASS .
The NATO Secretary General said that at the meeting a decision was made to intensify work on standardization of weapons and development of common standards for innovative military capabilities.
According to Rutte, NATO will continue to increase its presence on the eastern flank and military production.
To supply Ukraine and fill our warehouses, the head of the organization noted.
He added that NATO will continue to increase purchases of new weapons, primarily air defense systems, fifth-generation strike aircraft and artillery.
