What Rutte said about Ukraine joining NATO

Answering media questions about calls by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to invite Ukraine to NATO before the end of the conflict as the highest form of security guarantee, the Secretary General of the alliance noted that the best security guarantees are the relevant bilateral agreements between Ukraine and NATO countries and arms supplies.

In the future, yes, Ukraine could become the 33rd or 34th member of NATO, Rutte said.
