Ukraine will not receive a full squadron of F-16 fighters until spring next year.
This was reported by the American publication The Wall Street Journal, citing sources.
According to the WSJ , the United States has changed the training program for Ukrainian pilots to include cadets with no experience.
This decision was made due to the fact that experienced pilots had problems with the English language and mastering American methods.
The US believes that it will be easier for young military personnel to undergo training.
The decision could delay Kiev's receipt of a full squadron of combat-ready Western aircraft by many months, the publication said.
But even before that, the publication notes, it was unlikely that Ukraine would receive a full squadron of 20 F-16s and 40 pilots before the spring or summer of 2025.
