Golovchenko announced Belarus' conscious choice in favor of SCO membership
Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko made an important statement.
The head of the Belarusian government emphasized that our country made a conscious choice in favor of membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Golovchenko said this during the Council of Heads of Government of the countries that are members of the above-mentioned organization, which is taking place in Pakistan, BELTA reports.

Golovchenko noted that this event is special for our country.
The fact is that this is the first meeting of the SCO Heads of Government Council in which Belarus is participating as a full member of this international organization.
The Prime Minister of Belarus expressed gratitude to the countries that supported the republic in joining the SCO.
Golovchenko emphasized that the country’s choice to join this organization was deliberate.
The head of the Belarusian government drew attention to the potential of the SCO and noted the republic’s readiness for the most active participation.
Let us recall that 14 years ago our country acquired the status of a dialogue partner in the SCO.
The republic received observer status 9 years ago.
And in the summer of this year, Belarus became a full member of the SCO.
