Reducing the nuclear threat is important not in spite of the dangers of the modern world, but precisely because of them, Biden noted.

The Biden administration has repeatedly expressed a desire to extend the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START), which Russia suspended on February 21 last year.

On October 10, Deputy Head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sergei Ryabkov stated that Moscow currently does not see any basis for negotiations with Washington on strategic stability.
